Pain Management Services At MicroSpine

MicroSpine Specializes in Endoscopic Spinal Surgery, but we do have a full time pain management staff which offers services beyond those that are offered for our surgery patients. Our pain management staff is available for a multitude of pain disorders. So whether you suffer from spinal disorders or some other chronic pain disorder, our staff is available for you. Just contact our office and specify that you desire pain management services and they will assist you.

For our Spine Surgery Patients:

Patients may require our pain management services for diagnostic testing prior to surgery. Diagnostic testing includes discograms, facet injections, nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, and SI joint injections. These injections are performed to confirm the source of your pain so that the correct surgery is performed. A correct diagnosis is essential for a correct surgery and a good outcome. Often spine surgeons simply guess at what surgery needs to be done or they simply utilize MRI reports which may only offer part of the picture. Thus confirmation of what the MRI reports and examinations reveal is necessary for the complete picture.

Not everyone will require the services of the pain management department. In fact, only about 50% of patients will utilize these services. Thus, we try to reserve these services for only when they are needed.

The pain management department may also be utilized for pain injections either pre or post operatively to help reduce pain depending on the surgeon's requests.
